The natural biochemical make up resembles opiates, and when released into the system act as pain killers, complete with the euphoric state of well being.

At this point, the bodies natural endorphins kick in and you will get a burst of adrenalin energy as well as a euphoric feeling. This release of endorphins and subsequent feeling is what is known as 'the runner's high.'

Click here for more information about depression and exercise

A Gift of Gracias: The Legend of Altagracia by Jul...

A Gift of Gracias: The Legend of Altagracia by Julia Alvarez

Bridgeton News - Julia Alvarez is the author of many wonderful books, including Before We Were Free , winner of the Pura Belpre Award. Childhood depression goes far beyond just being sad. A depressed child loses interest in things they normally enjoy doing, wants to be alone and rarely laughs aloud.

Depression in teenagers/adolescents is pretty common. Teenage girls are at higher risk of becoming depressed than boys. Depressed teens tend to exhibit anti-social behavior and many abuse drugs, alcohol and/or smoke.

Depression later in life is not easily identified because many diseases that affect the elderly mask the symptoms of depression. Unlike in other age groups, older persons (over 60) suffer from depression are more likely to commit or try to commit suicide.

Click here for more information about age and gender in depression

The New Republic MagazineBridgeton News - Faced wi...

The New Republic Magazine

Bridgeton News - Faced with rising costs of postage and newsstand distribution, a number of publications have decided to cut back on the frequency of issues, relying on their websites for news reports and focusing on “think pieces” for their print versions. Factors such as marital problems, empty nest (children leaving home) and loss of their reproductive abilities are all linked to women and menopause.

This type of depression is normally a reaction to some specific trigger. In many instances this type of depression is short-term.

Click here for more information about types of depression

Schmucks!: Our Favorite Fakes, Frauds, Lowlifes, L...

Schmucks!: Our Favorite Fakes, Frauds, Lowlifes, Liars, the Armed and

Bridgeton News - Jackie Mason and Raoul Felder have created a wonderfully irreverent, and sarcastic look at the people, places, and things that they hate most.
